Exhibiting at Mineral Shows in Japan 2019!
This year I participated at the
TOKYO INTERNATIONAL MINERAL AUTUMN FAIR
(TIMA) in Shinjuku City, Tokyo from October October 4th – October 6th 2019
I also exhibited at the
WONDER WORLD OF STONES 2019 – KYOTO MINERAL SHOW,
from October 11th – 13th 2019.
I had already traveled to Kyoto and had been setting up for the show. We were deemed safe from typhoon Hagibis, which was considered to be the most devastating typhoon to hit the Kantō region of Japan since Ida in 1958. We still experienced strong winds as did many other areas in Japan.
I met many new customers and many also recognized me from the year before. I greeted and conferred with some very passionate and seasoned collectors!
I visited the Kyoto University Museum, filled with interesting displays. I was fortunate to get to see a temporary exhibit of an old famous collection of both Japanese and world mineral specimens that was presented in a very informative way.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to travel to Japan, once again, and I strongly recommend it for both mineral lovers and to learn more about Japan as a whole!
