Polylithionite, Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint Hilaire, Quebec
From the Greek “Poly” for many or much, and in allusion to its composition with a high Lithium content. A phyllosilicate mineral composed of potassium lithium aluminum silicate fluoride. Fluoresces in short UV to yellow-lemon. Forms thin loosely stacked hexagonal sheets. Bluish, colorless, violet, greenish, pearl white.
here is an unusually nice miniature group of Polylithionite crystals. Some 35 mm tall and beautifully terminated.
