Narsarsukite, Pouderette quarry, Mont Saint Hilaire, Quebec, Canada

Rare silicate mineral with chemical formula Na2(Ti,Fe3+)Si4(O,F)11 It was first described in 1900 for an occurrence in the Narsaarsuk pegmatite in the Ilimaussaq intrusive complex of West Greenland. Also known from syenite intruding limestone in the Sweetgrass Hills, Montana. In the Poudrette quarry at Mont Saint-Hilaire, Quebec it occurs associated with amphiboles, albite, taeniolite, pectolite, calcite, and quartz.

Nice distribution of shatp crystals on all sides on this fine mineral specimen. Crystals of Narsarsukite from Poudrette quarry, Mount Saint Hilaire (MSH), Quebec, Canada.

Collected in 1995. Size is About 65 mm all around. Very nice hand specimen
