Pyromorphite Society girl mine, BC

Pyromorphite Society girl mine, British Columbia

Society Girl Mine, Moyie, Fort Steele Mining Division, British Columbia, Canada

The Society Girl deposit occurs within the Creston Formation which is comprised of relatively fine-grained shallow water clastics including argillites, siltstones and quartzites.

Moyie is located about 30 km (18.6 miles) south-west of Cranbrook and approximately 30 km (18.6 miles) north of Yahk on Hwy 3/95, “The Crowsnest” route.
Situated on the south-east side of beautiful Moyie Lake, Moyie is a small community that enjoys a relaxed small-town atmosphere but is close enough to Cranbrook for big city amenities.

Rockhounds will find the area very appealing with the odd discovery of beautiful crystal formations such as the one above  found at The Society Girl Mine. This Thumbnail size specimen is available.
