NEW! Calcite Pink Dolomite from Marcil Quarry

Calcite is a calcium carbonate (CaCO3) the most stable polymorph  aragonite and vaterite. Aragonite  and vaterite. It has a Mohs hardness of 3, a specific gravity of 2.71. Crystals are trigonal-rhombohedral but rombohedra are uncommon form. In places like Mont Saint Hilaire it mimics just about every mineral species in the quarry.

From ST. Clothilde near Chateuguay, Quebec, Canada. I collected this specimen on the 13th of October 2013.
